Maia Zoo

The Zoo in Maia, near Porto, is a small zoo, not having a lot of the big animals, like elephants, giraffes or rhinos, but the ones it has are definitely well looked after.
Even though I think the animals should no the kept in captivity, I cannot deny the experience of having my children being able to see the animals up close, so at least, I try to keep the visits to the ones I know to take good care of the animals.

Apart from the zoo, they had an exhibition of animal skeletons and a demonstration of birds of prey which was definitely worth seeing.
